iPod RIP (?)
So I got an Ipod back in March, and since that time, it's forgotten half my songs on at least 2 occasions. This past Wednesday, my work computer decided to shut itself down out of nowhere, with my iPod attached. When I restarted it, the iPod didn't show up, so I had to disconnect it unsafely. When I turned it back on, I wanted to see if I lost some of the recent things I put on there. To my surprise, I lost EVERY song on there. I plug it back in, and It tells me there's some sort of volume error, and I'd need to reformat. So I do, and spend the next half hour + loading up all the music I have on my work computer. I take it home, and plug it in there, and I get the volume error message again, and it doesn't read it in iTunes. It tells me to refomat again, so fine, I do. I spend an hour + loading up the music from my home computer. I unplug it from the computer, and instead of a menu, there's a folder with an Exclamation point on it. Under the folder icon reads "http://apple.com/ipod/support," not good. I go to the site, which offers no help. I remember I got a 2 year warranty with Best Buy, so I went back to show them that it's dead. As it stands now, they have to do testing to see if it can be repaired, which takes 3 days. After that if it can be repaired, it will be gone for 2-3 weeks. If it's definately dead, I'll get a new one.
Way to go Apple, you've really got a stellar product on your hands!

UPDATE (8/8/06): I got a call yesturday that Best Buy's Geek Squad was able to restore it. It seems ok for now, but I'm sure if something goes wrong, you'll hear me complaining again.
